UK Board Exams Begin: Over 2 Lakh Students Appearing, Tight Security Arrangements in Place

The Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UK Board) has officially started the Class 10 and 12 board exams from today, February 21. These exams will continue until March 11. To ensure strict security at exam centers, Section 163 has been enforced, and tight security measures have been implemented within a 100-meter radius of the centers.

Over 2 Lakh Students Appearing for the Exams

This year, a total of 2,23,387 students have registered for the board exams. Among them, 1,13,688 students are appearing for Class 10, while 1,09,699 students are taking the Class 12 exams. Most students have reached their respective centers on time and are well-prepared. However, some students are experiencing a mix of nervousness and anticipation regarding the question papers. The exams are scheduled to be conducted from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

1,245 Exam Centers Set Up Across the State

A total of 1,245 exam centers have been established across Uttarakhand, including 165 sensitive centers and 5 highly sensitive centers. Additionally, 49 single-exam centers and 1,196 mixed-exam centers have been designated. Authorities have put strict measures in place to prevent cheating and ensure a fair examination process.

Focus on Transparency and Fair Exams

Board Secretary Vinod Kumar Simlti emphasized that special monitoring will be in place to prevent any misconduct during the exams. The administration’s primary goal is to maintain transparency and a cheating-free environment, ensuring that every student gets a fair opportunity to perform to the best of their abilities.
