Trivendra Wants to Keep General Bipin Rawat’s Memory Alive
Keeping General Bipin Rawat’s Memory Alive: Trivendra’s Initiative It’s been three years since we lost India’s first Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat, in a tragic helicopter crash on December 8, 2021. To honor his memory, the Devbhoomi Vikas Sansthan, led by Haridwar MP and former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, is working on some unique initiatives. Last year, they organized two major events to pay tribute to General Rawat. Blood donation camps were held in Kotdwar and Dehradun, and lectures were organized to discuss his achievements and personality. The Devbhoomi Vikas Sansthan is committed to continuing this series of creative events in his memory. The events organized in 2023 received overwhelming support from the public, inspiring everyone involved. The first event was held in Kotdwar on December 7, 2023, a day before the anniversary of his passing. It included a blood donation and health camp, as well as a commemorative lecture. General Rawat’s daughter, Tarini, was present at the event. Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat also honored individuals who have made significant contributions to society.
During the commemorative lecture, a video about General Rawat was played, bringing tears to everyone’s eyes, including Trivendra Singh Rawat. The second event dedicated to General Rawat was held at Doon University in Dehradun on December 9. A blood donation camp organized by Veerbhumi Foundation collected **111 units of blood**. The commemorative lecture was addressed by Rajya Sabha member Sudhanshu Trivedi, who fondly remembered General Rawat and paid tribute to him. He highlighted General Rawat’s exceptional knowledge in defense matters, noting his ability to provide precise answers on defense strategies and India’s defense policies. The event was chaired by Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat. The event was graced by the presence of Doon University Vice Chancellor Prof. Surekha Dangwal, Veerbhumi Foundation President Rajesh Rawat, MLA Brijbhushan Garola, former Chairman of the Public Service Commission Major General Anand Singh Rawat, outgoing Mayor of Dehradun Sunil Uniyal Gama, Head of Vishwa Samvad Kendra Vijay Singh, Chairman of the Minority Commission Dr. RK Jain, and folk singer Rekha Dhassmana Uniyal, among others. Earlier, in 2022, a similar event was held in memory of General Bipin Rawat.
