Traffic police held a meeting with auto parts seller
Instructions given to take action against selling modified silencers that emit firecracker sound
Traffic Raipur, Dated 03 February 2025: As per the instructions of Deputy Inspector General of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police Raipur Lal Umed Singh, Traffic Police Raipur held a meeting with the auto parts sellers of the city and instructed them not to sell modified silencers that emit firecracker sound. Also, if found selling, the provision of imprisonment up to six months or fine up to one lakh rupees or both was given under Section 181 (a) of the Motor Vehicles Act. During the meeting, Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic Raipur Satish Thakur and Gurjeet Singh warned the auto parts sellers present and explained that under the Motor Vehicles Act, there is a provision of punishment for both installing and selling parts contrary to the standard in the vehicle. At present, many Bullet vehicle drivers in Raipur city are driving recklessly on public roads by installing modified silencers, making sounds like firecrackers and gunshots, due to which other drivers on the road get panicked by the sudden loud noise and there is a possibility of a road accident. In view of this, as per the instructions of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic Police Raipur organized a meeting of auto parts dealers and instructed them not to sell modified silencers. Also, if found selling them, action will be taken under the Motor Vehicles Act. During this, a large number of auto parts dealers of Raipur city were present, who assured that they will not sell modified silencers in future.
