Today the daughters of Meerut will show their strength, know in which sport they will participate

On Javelin Day today, Annu Rani will participate in the first round of the javelin throw event. Priyanka Goswami will participate in the marathon race walk relay. Meerut residents have high hopes of medals on both the players.

Three women players from Meerut have participated in the Paris Olympics. Among them, Parul Chaudhary could not qualify for the finals in both her events 3000 m steeple chase and 5000 m race. Priyanka Goswami also ranked 41st in the 20 km walk.

Today Priyanka Goswami will once again participate in the event. She will participate in the marathon race walk relay at 11 am. Annu Rani will perform for the first time in javelin throw. She will participate in the event at 1:55 pm.

Will participate on Javelin Day
The Athletic Federation of India had declared August 7 as National Javelin Day to honor the achievements of Neeraj Chopra. This day is celebrated every year on 7 August since she won the medal in Tokyo Olympics. Annu Rani came into the limelight by winning the gold medal in javelin throw in the Asian Games. She won the gold medal by covering a distance of 62.92 meters in the 2023 Asian Games. She has also participated in the Tokyo Olympics.
