Threat of dengue in Dehradun, Health Department becomes alert – Know what is the preparation plan

Dehradun News: Dengue cases are gradually increasing in Dehradun. So far, 23 people have been confirmed to have dengue in the city. In view of this, the administration has increased vigilance and alerted all the concerned departments. Hospitals and municipal corporation employees have been instructed to be fully prepared. Asha workers have been sent to every house to eliminate the larvae of dengue-spreading mosquitoes and monitor the area. DM Savin Bansal has ordered to increase the number of blood separators in Doon from 2 to 5. Along with this, Rs 5 lakh each has been released in advance to the Medical and Municipal Corporation departments for immediate expenses. The DM has also asked to increase the number of tanks for spraying mosquito repellent medicines from 5 to 20. The Municipal Corporation has received orders to complete the cleaning of all rivers, drains and sewers by May 15. He has instructed Asha workers to make ward-wise plans, record all the activities of the departments for dengue prevention and use Google spreadsheet for monitoring. Apart from this, advisory has been issued in schools regarding precautions related to dengue.

Seeing the increasing threat of dengue, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital has also become fully active. The hospital has prepared a special ward of 50 beds for dengue patients, which will be increased if needed. All preparations have already been completed. Dr. Jaskaran Bajaj of the Medicine Department has been made the nodal officer for dengue cases. The emergency and blood bank of the hospital have also been instructed to be ready at all times. Dr. Ajay Pandita said that all the necessary facilities for the examination and treatment of dengue are available in the hospital. Dr. Gaurav Raturi said that last year too, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital had treated the maximum number of dengue patients in Uttarakhand. The hospital’s blood bank had also met the huge demand for platelets during that time. The emergency team did a great job in handling serious dengue cases. People have been advised not to pay attention to rumors about dengue as its treatment is completely possible.
