Governor reviews tribal affairs, public health and family welfare, AYUSH schemes
Bhopal: Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that the results of individual and community planning should be evaluated at the ground level. The reach of development schemes to deprived and left out individuals and areas should be considered a measure of success. He said that efforts should be made to reach the scheme to every eligible person through the implementation of the schemes. This should also be the goal of monitoring.
Governor Patel was addressing the meeting organized by the Tribal Cell today. The meeting was organized in two sessions. In the first session, the Public Health and Family Welfare Department and the AYUSH Department were reviewed. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, AYUSH Minister Inder Singh Parmar were present on this occasion. In the second session, the schemes of the Tribal Affairs Department were discussed.
Give priority to youth in distribution of genetic cards – Governor
Governor Mangubhai Patel, while reviewing the health department, directed that during screening, the work of screening of identified areas with a large number of sickle cell affected people and the age group of 20 to 30 years should be given comprehensiveness. The work of investigation should be done at a fast pace. Pregnant women should be tested before delivery and within 72 hours of delivery. An action plan should be prepared by the department in this regard. Genetic cards should be made available to identified carriers and patients on priority. Patients and carriers should be immediately provided with appropriate medicines. Carriers and patients should take medicines regularly. Its monitoring is very important. Community public awareness efforts are necessary for monitoring. It is important that direct contact and communication should be established in this regard by going door to door. He has given instructions to sensitize the field staff and make efforts for public awareness through them.
There should be a comparative test of different AYUSH methods in sickle cell elimination
During the discussion on the AYUSH department, Governor Patel said that a comparative test of the research being done by the department regarding the role of homeopathy, Ayurveda and yoga in sickle cell disease management and treatment should also be conducted. Carriers and patients from all tehsils of the pilot districts should be included in the study. This should be ensured. He said that Ayurveda has very strong possibilities in providing comprehensiveness to the Prime Minister’s efforts to eliminate sickle cell by 2047. Special efforts should be made in this direction.
Efforts for prenatal checkup should also be expanded- Deputy Chief Minister Shukla
Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla informed that the Transfusion Department of Medical College Indore has been declared a Center of Competence by the Central Government. He said that along with providing genetic cards to sickle cell affected people, efforts for prenatal testing will also be expanded.
Doctors will provide information about sickle cell in colleges – Ayush Minister
Ayush Minister Inder Singh Parmar said that the Higher Education Department has planned to expand efforts for public awareness about sickle cell in coordination with the Medical Department. He informed that efforts will be made to spread awareness through students by setting a period for doctors to provide information about sickle cell in all colleges.
The foundation of development is everyone’s support and development – Governor
In the second session of the meeting, Governor Mangubhai Patel said that the foundation of developed India is Sabka Saath and Sabka Vikas. For this, the government’s schemes have been created. The success of the intention of the scheme depends on the vision and direction of implementation. He said that the government staff is the driver of the government. The more alert and active the staff is, the more dynamic the government will be. Therefore, it is necessary that the staff from the top to the ground level should be sensitive towards the intention of the scheme. The monitoring system should focus on identifying the people and areas left out at the ground level. Efforts should be focused on the necessary provisions, amendments and innovations to benefit such areas, communities and people. Governor Mangubhai Patel, while discussing the various schemes of the Tribal Affairs Department, Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyay Maha Abhiyan (PM Janman) and departmental schemes, said that the department should include new districts in PVTG districts. The department should prepare a proposal by studying the provisions of Maharashtra State to provide additional funds for PESA Gram Sabhas. PhD scholarships and subject quotas for tribal beneficiaries should also be abolished.
Chairman Tribal Cell Mr Deepak Khandekar, Principal Secretary to Governor Mr Mukesh Chand Gupta, members of the Cell and other officers were present in the meetings. Principal Secretary AYUSH Mr D.P. Ahuja, Principal Secretary Health Mr Sandeep Yadav, AYUSH Commissioner Mrs Uma Maheshwari, Managing Director National Health Mission Dr Saloni Sidana and other senior officers were present in the first session. Principal Secretary Tribal Affairs Mr Gulshan Bamra, Commissioner Tribal Mr Shriman Shukla and other departmental officers were present in the second session.
