Road projects worth Rs 7,000 crore in Chhattisgarh will soon get financial approval
New Delhi, 31 July 2025- An important step was taken today to speed up the infrastructure of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai met Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, in which many important road projects of the state got approval. In the meeting, the Union Minister directed the officials to expedite the financial approval of the currently planned works of more than Rs 7000 crore in Chhattisgarh. Along with this, Rs 600 crore was approved under the Central Road Fund (CRF). Through this, the way will be cleared for the construction and upgradation of many roads in Chhattisgarh. Four big bridges will be built to reduce the congestion of Raipur city, whose bhoomi pujan will be done soon. At the same time, the roads from the capital Raipur to other districts will be changed from two lanes to four lanes, which will make the traffic faster and safer. It was also decided in the meeting that the Centre’s ‘Gati Shakti Portal’ will now be used in the planning of the state’s road schemes, so that approval can be obtained soon. Gadkari ordered to prepare the DPR quickly for the 95 km long six-lane road between Raipur-Arang-Bilaspur-Darri, which will connect industrial, agricultural and educational areas. Also, the Samriddhi Expressway will also be extended to Raipur.
Apart from this, some important schemes also got approval today. Works worth Rs 115.95 crore have been approved for upgradation work in National Highway No. 130A, raising work in National Highway No. 43 and strengthening in National Highway No. 30. These include the construction of a 15 km long road within Bilaspur city, which will ease traffic in the city. An 11 km road will be built on the part of Katni-Gumla route which will help in connecting the villages. At the same time, the road of 4 km part of Keshkal will be strengthened, which will provide relief to the people of the hilly area. Chief Minister Sai said that roads are not just a means of travel, but a path to development, employment and social change. Under ‘Anjor Vision 2047’, the Chhattisgarh government aims to provide better and environment-friendly transport to every village and every citizen. Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Subodh Singh and Public Works Department Secretary Dr. Kamalpreet Singh were also present in the meeting.
