The mayor reviewed the cleanliness drive along with the commissioner and the health department head and held zone-wise discussions with the zone heads and gave necessary instructions.

Raipur – Today, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Raipur, Mrs. Meenal Chaubey, in the presence of Commissioner Vishwadeep, Corporation Health Department President Mrs. Gayatri Sunil Chandrakar and Zone Presidents Sarvashri Gajju Sahu, Murali Sharma, Amber Agarwal, Badri Prasad Gupta, Mrs. Shweta Vishwakarma, Pritam Singh Thakur, Gopesh Sahu, Sachin B. Meghani, took a detailed work review meeting with Corporation Health Officer Dr. Tripti Panigrahi, all zone commissioners, zone health officers, focusing on the cleaning of drains before the rains and gave necessary instructions. The Mayor and Commissioner have instructed the Zone Commissioners and Zone Health Officers to remove the load to the bottom of all the big drains of Raipur Municipal Corporation area by May 30, 2025 and get them cleaned systematically before the rains. Each zone has been given work approval of Rs. 3 lakh each to get the manual drain cleaning work done as practically necessary before the rains, to get the work done by 25 additional contracted cleaning employees and to get the big drains cleaned before the rains by using big Poklane machines and to get the work done on rent.

Mayor Mrs. Meenal Chaubey and Commissioner Vishwadeep said that no negligence will be tolerated in the work of systematic cleaning of big drains before the rains. All zone commissioners and zone health officers should coordinate with zone presidents and ward councilors to get the systematic cleaning of big drains completed by 30 May before the rains and ensure smooth drainage of dirty water. Otherwise, if the problem of water logging arises in the rains, accountability will be fixed and disciplinary action will be taken under the procedure as per rules. The zone commissioner and zone health officer will be responsible for getting the drain cleaning work done before the rains. Mayor Mrs. Meenal Chaubey discussed with all the zone presidents about the current status of cleaning of big drains before the rains and took information and gave necessary instructions to the concerned zone commissioner and zone health officer to coordinate on the suggestions of the zone presidents and get the drains cleaned before the rains by the deadline of 30 May and make proper arrangement for drainage of dirty water. Mayor Mrs. Meenal Chaubey appealed to all the zone presidents to inspect the wards of their zone daily along with zone commissioners and zone health officers and register active participation with the Municipal Corporation in the work of getting the complete and intensive cleaning of drains done before the rains. So that the drains can be cleaned properly before the rains and the common people do not face the problem of water logging and inconvenience during the rains.
