Raipur. 30 May 2025: The life of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar is an example of women empowerment and good governance. Amidst all the shocks and adverse circumstances in her life, she efficiently ran the government and did many welfare works. Not limited to Indore only, she built dharamshalas, temples and ghats all over the country. Considering the people as her children, she worked for them with great sensitivity. Gave the right to education to girls and the right to adopt children to widowed women. Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Sao expressed these views at the prize distribution ceremony of various competitions organized by Raipur Municipal Corporation on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. MLAs Shri Rajesh Munat, Sunil Soni, Motilal Sahu and Purandar Mishra and Raipur Municipal Corporation Mayor Smt. Meenal Chaubey also attended the seminar-cum-award distribution ceremony held at Naveen Vishram Bhawan.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, while addressing the school and college students and their parents present at the program, said that Rani Ahilyabai Holkar was a very brave, patient, capable and courageous woman. Due to these qualities, she faced the struggles and problems in her life with full capacity and efficiency. She discharged her responsibilities as a protector of the people with full capacity and efficiency. Apart from the works of governance, she was also proficient in war skills. Her entire life is very inspiring for all of us. Former Deputy Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Narayan Chandel, while addressing the seminar as the keynote speaker, said that Rani Ahilyabai Holkar was an extraordinary woman born in an ordinary family. With her works, she achieved the status of Veerangna, Lokmata and Rajmata. During her rule, she discharged her responsibilities towards the state and the people well. He established new standards of good governance and philanthropy. 300 years ago, he worked to ensure drinking water and groundwater recharge.
Chandel motivated the students present in the program and said that the biography of every successful person should be read. The lives of people who reach the top should be studied. He said that there is no need to be distracted by failure. The secret of success is hidden in failure itself. Mayor Mrs. Meenal Chaubey said in her welcome address in the program that Rani Ahilyabai Holkar was a person of all virtues, a well-wisher of the people and a just ruler. We can learn a lot from her glorious life. Mayor Mrs. Chaubey said that essay and painting competitions were organized in different categories by Raipur Municipal Corporation to bring the various aspects of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar’s life in front of children and youth. In the painting competition, 27 children participated in the senior category and 83 in the junior category. In essay writing, 40 participants participated in the senior category and 58 in the junior category. A total of 208 students from various schools and colleges participated in both the competitions. Raipur Municipal Corporation Chairman Suryakant Rathore, Commissioner Vishwadeep, Culture Department Chairman Amar Gidwani, MIC members, zone presidents and councillors along with the participating students of both the competitions and their parents were present in large numbers in the program.
