Raipur, 23 July 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has said that the state government is fully committed to the nutrition of the children and to provide them a safe and bright future. For the proper development of children, the Women and Child Development Department and the Health Department will have to work together in mutual coordination. Chief Minister Sai today conducted a high-level review of the progress and implementation of the schemes of the Women and Child Development Department at the Ministry Mahanadi Bhawan and gave important instructions to the officials. He said that regular district-wise monitoring of schemes focused on women and children should be done at the secretary level and it will be thoroughly reviewed in the upcoming Collector Conference. Chief Minister Sai took information about the infrastructure, budget and running schemes of the Women and Child Development Department in the meeting. He said that the department plays a very important role from the point of view of nutrition and security of children, adolescents and women. He also said that the more sensitively and efficiently the care and nutrition of young children is done, the more effective and strong their physical and mental development will be. Chief Minister Sai said that children are the foundation of our country’s future and everyone’s participation is necessary to strengthen this foundation. He instructed the departmental staff to work actively and with self-motivation at the ground level. He emphasized on ensuring that every child of the state gets proper benefits of supplementary nutrition and departmental schemes. He discussed in detail various points including nutrition diet, hot food, its quantity, quality and calorie standards to be distributed in Anganwadi centers and told the need for continuous monitoring of the distribution process.

Chief Minister Sai inquired about the functioning of 197 Anganwadi centres being run under PM Janman Yojana and directed to work with sensitivity and commitment for the all-round development of children of special backward tribe (PVTG) community. Chief Minister Sai reviewed important indices related to children’s nutrition and talked about making concrete efforts to bring the desired improvement. He said that it is possible to assess the real situation through indices, and wherever deficiencies are seen, prompt corrective steps should be taken. Expressing happiness over the better performance in Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, the Chief Minister directed that this progress should continue in this manner. He said that small things and behaviour have a deep impact on the mental development of children, therefore Anganwadi workers should develop an emotional bond with children with sensitivity. Chief Minister Sai asked to ensure regular training of departmental staff so that they can work result-oriented with technically proficient and research-based approach. Child Marriage Free Chhattisgarh Campaign, Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana, Sakhi One Stop Centre, Shakti Sadan, Women and Child Helpline, Mahila Kosh, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mission Vatsalya and other schemes were also reviewed in the meeting. On this occasion, Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister P. Dayanand, Rahul Bhagat, Secretary of Women and Child Development Department Shammi Abidi, Director P.S. Elma and officers and employees of the department were present.
