Raipur. Voting for the third phase of Lok Sabha elections will be held on May 7. While talking to the media on Monday, Chief Electoral Officer Reena Baba Saheb Kangale said that preparations for the elections on 7 Lok Sabha seats have been completed. The Election Commission is committed to conducting fair and peaceful elections.
He further said that, a total of 15701 polling stations have been set up in 7 Lok Sabha seats. A total of 168 candidates are in the fray. Voting will take place in all 58 assembly constituencies from 7 am to 6 pm. Where the total number of voters is 1,39,01,285. There are 1072 critical polling stations. Additionally, additional security arrangements have been made in sensitive polling stations.
Election campaign stopped 48 hours in advance
Let us tell you that the election noise of Lok Sabha elections has stopped since 6 pm on May 5, 48 hours before the end of voting. Now the candidates contesting elections or political parties will neither be able to organize processions and public meetings nor will they be able to use loud speakers for their election campaign. During these 48 hours, candidates will be able to contact voters only by going door-to-door. As per the instructions of the Election Commission, there will be a ban on public meetings, loud speakers and processions during the 48 hours immediately before the close of polling.
