India wins gold in anime animation category and silver in webtoon
Raipur, May 08, 2025: The youth of Raipur have shown the world with their skills and creativity that dreams are not made on sand, but in colours. This team working under the banner of ‘Entangled Studio’ has achieved a historic feat by winning the gold medal in the anime animation category and the silver medal in the webtoon category for India at the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025. This prestigious international event took place in India for the first time. The four-day summit held in Mumbai was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this event, India’s young talent waved its flag in the presence of representatives from more than 90 countries and more than 10 thousand participants. These stars included in the team The team that won the gold medal includes Shubhranshu Singh, Shefali Singh, Nihal Dungdung and Pratham Virani. All of them are between 22 and 25 years of age and come from different educational backgrounds like engineering and fashion design. They wanted to make a name for themselves in the world of anime which is known for its colourfulness, emotional depth and vibrant characters.
Chhattisgarh also wins in webtoon Another talented youth from Chhattisgarh, Vishal Marawi, won the silver medal in the webtoon category. He is also associated with Entangled Studio and his creative victory has given double success to the studio. This flight of dreams started from Nagpur Shubhranshu Singh told that this creative journey started with the regional competition held in Nagpur in October 2024. After winning there, the team competed with the winning teams of 11 cities at the national level and was selected for the finals. These youths brought gold to India by defeating teams from more than 20 countries on the stage of WAVES 2025. Eyes now on Tokyo With the gold medal, the team has got the honour of representing India in the international anime event to be held in Tokyo, Japan in 2026. The team is very excited about this opportunity and believes that this is a golden chance to get India’s anime talent recognised on the global stage. These creative stars of Raipur have proved that if there is a confluence of technology, imagination and hard work, then it is possible to make a mark on the world stage even from a state like Chhattisgarh.
