Raipur. The festival of Raksha Bandhan in Chhattisgarh became special this time, when the women of the state expressed their affection and respect for Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai in a unique way. Women tied special rakhis for the Chief Minister, which not only symbolizes brotherhood but also the deep faith of women towards their safety and welfare. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan festival, the Chief Minister’s residence was full of women sisters who came in large numbers to tie rakhis to Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai from across the state.
Feelings of women-
The members of the women’s group who came to tie rakhi to the Chief Minister said that the government of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is continuously working for the empowerment of women in the state and to protect their rights. Seeing his dedication, we thought that on this Raksha Bandhan, our feelings should be expressed towards him in a special way. Tying rakhi is a tradition, but for us it is also a way to give a message that we believe in his leadership and consider him our brother. Therefore, the women expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister by tying a Rakhi with the words ‘Thank you Vishnu Bhaiya’.
The women involved in the making of this Rakhi gave the message by making Rakhis that they appreciate the work done by them and consider them a part of their family.
Reaction of the Chief Minister-
Chief Minister Shri Sai expressed happiness over this unique initiative of the women and said that it is a matter of great honour for me. I am overwhelmed by the love that the sisters have given today. He said that I will continue to work to live up to the expectations of all the sisters of the state. He further said that this Rakhi is not just a thread, but also reminds us of our duties and responsibilities towards them. Women and girls who have achieved a great position in various fields had reached the Chief Minister’s residence today on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai told the women that the achievements of all of you make us proud. All of you should choose the field according to your interest and move forward in it.
