In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Shashi Tharoor, a three-time MP from Thiruvananthapuram representing Congress, has accepted a challenge from BJP candidate Rajeev Chandrasekhar to debate openly. Tharoor, in response, highlighted issues like price hike, unemployment, corruption, and communalism, inviting a discussion on development in the region. Chandrasekhar, a Union Minister, expressed readiness for the debate, emphasizing the importance of discussing ideas and development. Pannyan Raveendran from CPI will also contest in the constituency. Chandrasekhar, whose Rajya Sabha term recently ended, is eager to participate in his first Lok Sabha polls. Tharoor, known for his previous roles in international service and Indian government, has been representing Thiruvananthapuram since 2009. Kerala’s voting will happen on April 26, and the results will be announced on June 4.
