Thanks to all those who looked after us

Union Minister Shivraj Singh, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and other ministers washed the feet of PM Awas beneficiaries

Raipur, 13 May 2025: We are Pahadi Korwa Babu, we are connected to the forest, whatever we have is all from the forest, not only our ancestors, our lives have been spent with struggles, no one even wiped our tears…no one took care of us, today we are being given clean water..road to the village..school in the village…Ayushman card for treatment of diseases and a concrete house..along with helping us stand on our feet..our feet are being washed. This is our good fortune. Thanks to all those people who took care of us and are giving us respect. This is what Pahadi Korwa Phulo Bai and Shani Ram Korwa of a special backward tribal family said.

These Pahari Korwa families were overwhelmed and proud after getting their feet washed by Union Agriculture and Panchayat Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai before the Grihapravesh after getting a house under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Awas Yojana. Union Agriculture and Panchayat Minister Shivraj Singh, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and other guests, who were on a visit to Chhattisgarh, today performed Grihapravesh of the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Ambikapur by washing their feet. On this occasion, keys of houses were handed over to 51 thousand beneficiaries of the state. Phoolo Bai, a resident of village Pandarapath under Bagicha block of Jashpur district, tells that her life has been full of struggles. After the death of her husband two years ago, her difficulties had increased even more. She said that as long as her husband was alive, she was confident that one day she would build a permanent house, but his untimely death had dashed her hopes. The Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi, has taken care of the special backward tribal families living in the forest areas. With the initiative of the Prime Minister, the fortunes of the backward tribes have changed. Along with all kinds of government facilities, we have also started getting permanent houses.

Shani Ram, a Pahari Korwa of village Dhelvadand-Bokai Panchayat, District Surguja, said that many of our generations have passed living around the forests. Our generations also drank water from the dung cake. We lived in thatched houses and somehow lived our lives in the shadow of fear during storms and rains. We had never even thought that one day the difficult days of our lives would be over. Now, with the help of PM Janman, our permanent houses have been built. We are getting tap connections, electricity connections. Cards are being made for treatment. A permanent road is being built to the village. We were honored by washing our feet, which is a pleasant experience. This is the beginning of changing the fate of our coming generations. No matter how much gratitude we express for this, it is less.
