Tenant’s Belongings Kept Disappearing – The Thief Was the Landlord’s Son

Tenant Doctor Catches Landlord’s Son Stealing for Months Using Duplicate Key

Bhopal: A shocking case of theft has come to light in Bhopal’s Bajaria area, where a landlord’s son had been secretly stealing from a tenant’s room for nearly three months. The accused, an 18-year-old student, had made a duplicate key to the lock of the doctor’s rented room. Whenever the doctor was away, he would sneak in and steal valuables. Doctor’s Suspicion Leads to Hidden Camera The doctor, Vipin Tiwari, started noticing that his belongings were going missing, even though there was no sign of a break-in. Sensing something was off, he installed a CCTV camera in his room. What he found on the footage confirmed his worst fears—the landlord’s son was behind the thefts. How the Theft Was Carried Out

According to SI Arvind Singh, Vipin Tiwari, who lives on rent in Mukesh Jain’s house in Shankaracharya Nagar, became suspicious when cash and jewelry kept disappearing. The accused, Adi Jain, is a friend of Vipin’s nephew and had access to the house. Back in December, Adi had secretly taken the doctor’s key and made a duplicate. Since then, he had been entering the room whenever the doctor was out and stealing money and valuables. Caught in the Act Adi had been stealing since January, taking cash and jewelry on different occasions. By February, Vipin suspected theft and installed a CCTV camera on March 27. While checking the footage, the camera operator saw someone inside the room and immediately alerted Vipin. Rushing back home, Vipin caught Adi red-handed. Confession and Arrest When questioned by the police, Adi admitted to using the stolen money to buy a bike and also losing some of it in an online game called “Color Trading.” Out of the ₹4.5 lakh stolen, the police have recovered around ₹3.25 lakh worth of stolen goods. The accused has been arrested and sent to jail after being presented in court.
