Swachhata Brand Ambassador, Residence Welfare Association gave suggestions in the meeting for public participation in cleanliness in the corporation
Raipur – Today, on the instructions of Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Abinash Mishra, a meeting of NGO, Residence Welfare Association, social organizations and common people was held in the third floor hall of Mahatma Gandhi Sadan, Corporation Headquarters Building, in which 6 NGOs like Green Army, Kuch Farz Hamara Bhi, Ek Pehal, Presidents of 17 different Residence Welfare Associations like Wallfort City Welfare Association, VIP City, ASK Paradise, Surya Apartment, Deepak Jaisinghani (Blogger, Raipur Local Market) and 5 other social organizations, Chamber of Commerce President Shri Saras Modi, Padma Shri Bharti Bandhu, Harsha Sahu, Sameer Vensani, brand ambassadors of cleanliness and their representatives participated. Apart from this, all the zone commissioners and zone health officers including child artist Aru Sahu (folk singer) were present in the meeting. In the meeting, single use plastic and green waste, cleaning of drains, problem of stray dogs, action on encroachment, action on illegal flex, suggestion to cover drains, along with discussion on incentives to the organizations doing good work in their area, cleaning of schools, offices and action on polythene around them were also discussed.
Green Army NGO demanded adoption of five gardens including Sakhi Saheli, Apna Garden, Moti Bagh Udyaan and five ponds including Devpuri Talab, Sheetla Talab Puraina Talab. Along with this, NGO Kuch Farz Hamara Bhi demanded adoption of Bhatgaon market.
Green Army demanded adoption of one market in each of their 15 units, in which they will work by creating public awareness to make the market free from single use plastic within the next 6 months.
Along with this, there was also a demand for strict action against those who spread garbage and put up illegal flex in Raipur city, as per the rules. At the same time, suggestions were given to promote the use of steel utensils instead of using disposables in widely organized food arrangements and wedding ceremonies and social programs. In the meeting, it was suggested to call all the marriage palace operators, catering, business and social organizations together and give them information about the damage caused to the environment by disposables and appeal to them to stop using disposables.
