Suggestion of competition regarding cleanliness in wards, awareness campaign will be run

Raipur. Today, Mayor of Municipal Corporation Raipur, Ejaz Dhebar, along with Commissioner Abinash Mishra, took a decision regarding Swachhta Survey in the third floor hall of Corporation Headquarters Building Mahatma Gandhi Sadan in the presence of Leader of Opposition Meenal Chabe, Deputy Leader of Opposition Manoj Verma, Health Department President Nagbhushan Rao, MIC Member Sundar Lal Jogi, former Leader of Opposition and Councilor Suryakant Rathod, Councilor Mrityunjay Dubey, Additional Commissioner Rajendra Prasad Gupta, Health Officer Dr. Tripti Panigrahi, Executive Engineer of Swachh Bharat Mission Radhumani Pradhan, Assistant Engineer Yogesh Kadu. Mayor and Commissioner sought suggestions from public representatives to make Swachhta Survey successful from the point of view of Municipal Corporation in Raipur city.
Mayor Ejaz Dhebar said that in the last Swachhta Survey, Raipur city had secured 11th position. We need to pay utmost attention to public feedback. Along with this, it is necessary to get public feedback in the vehicles of Ramki Company running for cleanliness. The number of Swachhata Ambassadors in all zones is about 150. They have played an important role in the last Swachhata Survey. In this regard, the Mayor has suggested to the Commissioner that there is a need to organize competitions for Swachhata Survey in all the wards, so that cleanliness can be improved a lot. The Mayor has suggested that along with the wards, there is a need to organize competitions for Swachhata Survey in markets, ponds, schools, colleges, all places, so that people become aware of cleanliness and efforts are made to bring their ward to the first place. The Mayor said that except the revenue staff of the Municipal Corporation and those whose work is going on smoothly in the Municipal Corporation, the entire staff of the Municipal Corporation should be immediately directed to work in the field in connection with the Swachhata Survey. The Mayor said that there is a need to run awareness campaigns about cleanliness through NGOs in the wards. Leader of Opposition Mrs. Meenal Chabe suggested that whatever is being discussed regarding cleanliness, cleaning contractors should be talked to to implement it. Leader of Opposition said that under Swachh Bharat Mission, financial amount is given by the Central Government to the Municipal Corporation, it should be ensured administratively that the said amount is fully utilized. Meenal Chabe suggested that to improve the ranking in the cleanliness survey, special attention needs to be paid to the cleanliness of the inner and main roads of the wards, cleanliness campaign is needed in the markets and ponds located in the wards, dustbins need to be distributed immediately in all 70 wards.

Deputy Leader of Opposition Manoj Verma has suggested to distribute dustbins in all the wards first.

MIC member Sundar Lal Jogi suggested that by covering 100% area, door to door garbage collection should be practically ensured through Ramki Company. The councillors of all the 70 wards should spread awareness about cleanliness among the residents of the wards that the citizens should not throw the garbage of houses and shops here and there but give it to Safai Mitra or put it in the designated place in the garbage bin so that cleanliness can be maintained in the entire capital city area with public participation.

Former Leader of Opposition and Councillor Shri Suryakant Rathod suggested that a meeting should be held to include 70 councillors in the cleanliness survey, in which everyone should be appealed to review the cleanliness of their ward themselves. A meeting should be held with all the businessmen and bank managers to appeal them not to throw garbage in the drains and roads and to participate in cleanliness.

Councillor Mrityunjay Dubey suggested that a meeting should be held by calling all the 70 councillors together and everyone should be requested that there should be no garbage bin in the ward. It is necessary to be strict as per the rules regarding door to door garbage collection in the ward as well as on all the main roads adjoining the ward. He suggested that all the sanitation workers should get their salary on time every month so that they can work diligently. Along with this, there is a need to organize a cleanliness awareness rally with the participation of students of all the schools in the city in the cleanliness survey.
