Gold and silver prices strengthened in the bullion market of the national capital New Delhi. Gold strengthened by Rs 350 to Rs 71,950 per 10 grams due to global cues and increased demand at the domestic level. In the previous trading session, gold closed at Rs 71,600 per 10 grams.
Silver also strengthened by Rs 1,100 to Rs 85,600 per kg during Wednesday’s trading session. According to the All India Sarafa Association, silver closed at Rs 84,500 per kg in the previous session.
Meanwhile, gold of 99.5 percent purity rose by Rs 350 to Rs 71,600 per ten grams, which closed at Rs 71,250 per ten grams in the previous trading session. According to commodity market experts, the demand for gold in the Indian markets remains high due to the recent reduction in import duty and the upcoming festive season.
