State Level Wild Life Week-2024 in Van Vihar National Park
Bhopal. A bird watching camp was organized at Van Vihar on 3rd October at 6 am in the State Level Wild Life Week-2024. In the camp, 89 participants of Excellence and Mittal College Bhopal saw various species of birds, prominent among which are Black Durango, Open Bill Stork, Red Munia, Grey Heron, Bronze Bing Jacana, Indian Robin, Magpie Robin, Whistling Teal, Paradise Birdcatcher and Little Cormorant etc. and the participants got excited after seeing Butterfly, Common Crow, Grey Pansy, Common Evening Blue Tiger, Striped Tiger, Plain Tiger etc. as resource persons. Dr. Surendra Tiwari, Dr. Sudesh Waghmare, Dr. Sangeeta Rajgir and Mohd. Khaliq and other officers / employees were present. The program was conducted by Assistant Director Van Vihar Mr. S.K. Sinha.
In Van Utsav, photography competition was organized on the topic of ‘Van Vihar’ for classes 5 to 8 and class 9 to college class from 7 am in which 68 participants took part and submitted their photographs in the office as soft copies.
As another competition, Rangoli competition was organized on the topic of ‘Wildlife of Madhya Pradesh’ for classes 5 to 8 and ‘Tiger in Urban Area’ for classes 9 to college class from 10 am in which a total of 110 participants took part.
As other competitions of today, from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm, a school debate competition on the topic “Conservation of endangered species should be given more priority than economic development” was also organized in collaboration with World Nature Fund India, in which 24 participants took part.
Programs of 4 October 2024
On October 4, from 9.30 am, a college debate competition will be organized in collaboration with World Nature Fund India on the topic ‘Wildlife corridors are effective in reducing wildlife-human conflict and promoting biodiversity’ at Vihar Vithika located in Van Vihar and from 12 noon, a ‘Katha Vachan’ competition will be organized for students of classes 6 to 12.
‘Tiger Walk’ was organized for wildlife conservation with the cooperation of Bhopal Forest Division. This Tiger Walk will pass through the main road in front of T.T. Nagar Stadium and end at Motilal Science College.
