SSP honored the Good Samaritan who saved the lives of the injured in a road accident.

An appeal to the youth of the society to come forward to save the lives of the injured in road accidents.

Raipur Traffic 07 March 2025: SSP Dr. Lal Umed Singh honored 05 Good Samaritans (good people) who came forward to save the lives of the injured in road accidents that occurred in February and March 2025 on National Highway, State Highway and other roads passing under Raipur district by presenting them with a certificate and a symbol. He also appealed to the youth of the society to come forward to save the lives of the injured in road accidents. It is known that the Honorable Supreme Court has given the name of “Good Samaritan” i.e. a good person to the people who save lives of the injured in a road accident by providing them immediate medical facilities. SSP has been directed to encourage and reward them more and to propagate the Good Samaritan Law as much as possible, under which today, Senior Superintendent of Police Raipur Dr. Lal Umed Singh honored 05 Good Samaritans (good persons) who saved the lives of the injured by helping them in different road accidents in the district in February and March 2025 by presenting them with a certificate and a symbol, along with this, the traffic police officers were directed to put up hoardings and flexes at prominent places like railway station, bus stand, collectorate gate and Marine Drive etc. in the city to propagate their honor as much as possible.


Let us tell you that every year in the country, about one and a half lakh people die untimely in road accidents, the main reason for which is the lack of immediate medical facilities for the injured. The first 1 hour during a road accident is the golden hour for the injured, during this time if the injured person is taken to the hospital in any way or medical facilities are made available, then in 90% of the cases the life of the injured can be saved. But in today’s time, most of the people do not take any measures to save the life of the injured person in order to avoid getting into legal trouble, due to which the injured person dies in agony at the spot due to lack of treatment. Keeping this in view, Senior Superintendent of Police District Raipur Dr. Lal Umed Singh has directed all the police station in-charges of the district to promote Good Samaritan as much as possible to provide immediate assistance to the injured in road accidents occurring in the police station area and to present the Good Samaritan who saves the life by providing immediate assistance to the injured for encouragement and reward. In the same sequence, today, 05 Good Samaritans (good people) who helped the injured in various road accidents that took place on different highways of the district were honored by Senior Superintendent of Police, Raipur District, Dr. Lal Umed Singh by giving them mementos and certificates. They were also directed to publicize them by putting them on hoardings on the main roads and intersections of the city.

The Good Samaritans who helped the injured in road accidents in the months of February and March 2025 are as follows:-

01. Praful Sahu, father Jagdish Sahu, village Rewa, police station Mandir Hasaud, on 18.01.2025, found the driver and passenger of a motorcycle that met with an accident with an unknown vehicle lying injured in Mandir Hasaud, which was immediately informed through Dial 112 and with the help of police, he played an important role in saving the life of the injured by sending them to the hospital for treatment. 02. Gaurav Bharti, father Panna Bharti, village Chhatauna, police station Mandir Hasaud, on Date 04.02.2025, hit a pedestrian with his car in village Serikhedi, causing an accident. He immediately sent him to hospital for treatment through Dial 112 with the help of police and played an important role in saving the life of the injured.

03. Gulshan Banjare, father Mohan Banjare, village Godhi, police station Mandir Hasaud, on Date 06.03.2025, his car collided with a divider and overturned near village Umariya, in which the passengers got seriously injured. He immediately sent him to hospital for treatment through Dial 112 with the help of police and played an important role in saving the life of the injured.
04. Gagendra Singh Rajput father Nohar Singh Rajput, Krishak Nagar Jora Raipur on 13.02.2025, a car driver lost control and overturned near Amleshwar Mahadev Ghat, in which 03 persons were seriously injured, he immediately took them to Ramakrishna Hospital in his own vehicle and played an important role in saving the lives of the injured.

05. Ravindra Singh father Raghuveer Singh, Ravanbhatha, Police Station Khamtarai Raipur on 11.02.2025, a motorcycle driver lost control and fell into a pit in Ravanbhatha and got injured, he immediately sent him to the hospital for treatment with the help of police through dial 112 and played an important role in saving the lives of the injured.

After presenting the certificate and memento, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umed Singh asked all the above mentioned Good Samaritans to continue helping the injured in this manner in future as well and also inspire people around them to come forward to save the lives of the injured. During this, the officers present were directed to put up hoardings at important squares and intersections of the city such as Jaistambh Chowk, Collectorate Gate, Marine Drive Telibandha pond, near Shri Ram Temple and Bus Stand Bhatgaon to publicize the excellent work done by them as much as possible. Additional Superintendent of Police Traffic Raipur Dr. Prashant Shukla, Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic Raipur Gurjeet Singh and Satish Thakur were present during the above mentioned felicitation program.
