Sports infrastructure is continuously developing in MP: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav
Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that sports infrastructure is continuously developing in the state. The way work is going on in this direction under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the players of the state are moving towards getting Vikram Award as well as awards in Asiad and Olympics. Kushabhau Thackeray Stadium and Shrimant Tukojirao Pawar Stadium in Dewas have given many talented players to the state and the country. With the gift of synthetic athletic track being given to Dewas on the birth anniversary of Shrimant Tukojirao Pawar, players will get more opportunities to hone their talent. Continuous efforts will continue to expand sports facilities in Dewas. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said this while addressing the Bhoomi Pujan program of synthetic athletic track at Kushabhau Thackeray Stadium Dewas virtually from New Delhi on Sunday.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the region is being developed as a mega metropolis by connecting Dewas, Ujjain Dhar and Indore. The state government is working at a fast pace towards industrialization. In the changing times, this region will have a unique identity in the country. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that two goddesses, Maa Tulja Bhavani and Chamunda Mata reside in Dewas and the region is also blessed by Kaila Devi. Malwa, rich with its diverse characteristics, became independent from the time when the empire was reestablished by the Hindu army through Holkar-Pawar-Scindia and Bajirao ji Maharaj after Chhatrapati Maharaj Shivaji. This also increased the aura of the Dev-Sthans of the Malwa region. The presence of Pt. Kumar Gandharva and the bank note press have given special importance to Dewas.
It is noteworthy that 114 sports infrastructure (stadiums/sports complexes/indoor halls) have been built by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department in Madhya Pradesh, 30 sports infrastructure are under construction. A total of 8 synthetic athletic tracks have been built in the state. The 9th synthetic athletic track is being set up at Kushabhau Thackeray Stadium in Dewas. Apart from this, 3 more athletic tracks have also been approved in Indore, Ratlam and Chhatarpur. 12 synthetic hockey turfs have been set up by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department in the state and 6 synthetic hockey turfs are under construction. The state government will build sports stadiums in all districts under One District-One Sports Complex and there is a plan to build sports stadiums in all development blocks under the Chief Minister Sports Infrastructure Scheme.
Kushabhau Thackeray Stadium of Dewas is located in 10.00 acres of land. The stadium has 4 synthetic badminton courts, 2 basketball courts, 25 meter swimming pool, open gym, softball and chess, besides karate training for women’s self-defense. The Sports and Youth Welfare Department is setting up a synthetic athletic track for athletic players in the stadium at a cost of Rs 9 crore 18 lakh, in which 400 meter synthetic athletic track with 8 lanes will be available. Gym equipment worth Rs 26 lakh will also be provided for the fitness of the players.
