Special awareness campaign organized at Durga Mahavidyalaya, Raipur on the theme “Yoga for self and society”

Raipur. On the occasion of International Yoga Day on 21 June 2024, a special one-day photo exhibition was organized by the Central Communication Bureau, Raipur, the media unit of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, in the auditorium of Durga Mahavidyalaya, Raipur. In this photo exhibition, yoga and its importance were explained in detail. The program was inaugurated by the Principal of Durga Mahavidyalaya, Dr. Pratibha Mukherjee Sahukar, teachers of the college and other dignitaries by cutting the ribbon and lighting the lamp.

On this occasion, Regional Exhibition Officer, Central Communication Bureau, Government of India, Raipur, Mr. Shailesh Faye said that this special photo exhibition has been organized with the aim of creating awareness about yoga among the youth and society.

In the first session of the program, Yoga Instructor and District Head of Indian Yoga Institute, Raipur, Mr. Mukesh Soni and Mr. Rajesh Agarwal conducted yoga exercises for the participants present in the program. In his address, Mr. Mukesh Soni inspired people to adopt yoga in their lives through simple and easy yoga practices. Students of National Service Scheme, National Cadet Corps and College participated in this program with great enthusiasm.

In the second session of the program, essay writing, painting competition and speech competition were organized for the students. In the speech competition organized on the topic “Yoga for a happy life”, Siddharth Singh Thakur came first, Sheetal Mahanand second and Shreya Raj Singh third. 23 participants participated in the essay competition organized on the topic “Role of Yoga in the development of the nation”. Sheetal Mahanand got the first place in essay writing, Preeti Rao got the second place and Ankisha Singh got the third place. The topic of painting competition was Yoga and our life, a total of 18 participants participated in this topic in which Shubhra Singh Thakur got the first place, Ajay Kumar Singh got the second place and Neha Shukla got the third place. All the winning participants were honored with prizes and certificates by Central Communication Bureau, Raipur.

Dr. Aman Jha, Dr. Subhash Chandrakar, Sunita Chansoria, Dr. Archana Gumasta, Dr. Vijay Choubey and Ms. Chetna Nayak made a special contribution in the successful organization of the program.
