Songadh is today becoming the basic spiritual center of emerging Gujarat: Amit Shah
Delhi. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah addressed the Adinath Digambar Jinabim Panchkalyanak Pratishtha Mahotsav at Songadh in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. Many dignitaries including Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya were present on this occasion.
In his address, Amit Shah said that just yesterday, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji performed the ritual of consecration of Ram Lala in the awaited Ram temple in Ayodhya for almost 550 years. He said that in the holy Songadh Dham, Kanji Swami had spread light in the lives of not only Jains but also people of other sects. He said that despite finding the way to achieve many things in life, if a person does not find the way to attain salvation, then at the end of life everything will seem incomplete and inadequate. Shri Shah said that not everyone can attain salvation, but knowledge of the path to attain it and the effort to follow it is beneficial for life.
The Union Home Minister said that the Panchkalyanak Pratishtha Mahotsav, which started from January 19, will continue till January 26 and the consecration will take place on the same day. He said that the principles of governance on the basis of which this pilgrimage has been developed is truly the biggest tribute to Kanji Swami. Shri Shah said that many people in this entire area got the benefit of Kanji Swami’s preaching, conduct and knowledge.
Amit Shah said that today in Panchkalyanak, the three rituals of Garbha Kalyanak, Janma Kalyanak and Diksha Kalyanak have been completed and now after the completion of Gyan Kalyanak and Moksha Kalyanak, Abhishek will take place. He said that Panchkalyanak Mahotsav is going to give an understanding of five levels of journey in the life of every living being. He said that Janma Kalyanka tells how to live life after birth till one meets the Guru and how to pave the way for initiation under the guidance of the Guru once one finds the Guru. Similarly, the idea of Diksha Kalyanak explains how to liberate oneself and the lives of others through the life of initiation. He called upon the people to try to understand the essence of the entire process of religious rituals, only then they will be able to move forward on the path of welfare of life.
The Union Home and Cooperation Minister said that the accomplished man Kanji Swami has perfected this holy land with his penance and his message will always remain eternal. He said that the aim behind building a pilgrimage site is to ensure that the principles of God and Guru are remembered for many years. He said that the statue was made in Karnataka about a thousand years ago and a thousand years later in Songadh, a 41 feet high, 200 tonne weighing and 50 feet artificial hill has been installed on the statue. He said that Songadh will become a place of great importance among the spiritual centers of Gujarat in the coming days. Mr Shah said Kanji Swami established 66 Digambara Jain temples and also a temple in Nairobi, Kenya in the four decades of his life. The followers of Kanji Swami have built a huge pilgrimage site here today.
