Uttarakhand’s hills : On Monday, the weather took a turn in Uttarakhand, bringing heavy snowfall to the mountains. Areas like Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Harsil, Munsiyari, and Chakrata experienced significant snowfall, much to the delight of tourists. After the snowfall, the hills of Uttarakhand sparkled like silver. The snowfall across the state caused major disruptions on the Gangotri National Highway. Reports indicate that there is about one foot of snow on the road between Songad and Gangotri. Efforts are underway to clear the route, with the Border Roads Organization (BRO) working hard to remove the snow. However, the severe cold is making this task challenging.
In Chakrata, around 1 PM on Monday, the weather changed dramatically, leading to the start of snowfall. Mussoorie also saw some snowflakes falling. The snowfall in Chakrata brought smiles to the faces of tourists, especially in the higher regions like Lohari, Lokhandi, Moila, Devban, and Koti Kanasar.In the border district, heavy snowfall occurred from Dharchula to Munsiyari starting in the morning and continuing until the evening. After the snowfall, the peaks of Munsiyari glistened like silver.
