Sisters who did excellent work under Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission were honored

Target to make more than four lakh sisters Lakhpati Didi- Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan
Raipur, May 13, 2025: On the occasion of the “More Housing More Rights” program in Ambikapur, sisters of self-help groups who have done remarkable work in various fields under the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission were honored. Union Rural Development and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai honored these women by presenting them with certificates and mementos. On this occasion, BC Sakhi Smt. Baleshwari Yadav, resident of Gram Panchayat Losangi of development block Lakhanpur of Surguja district was honored for providing banking facilities at the local level to the needy beneficiaries of five Gram Panchayats and making financial transactions of Rs 11.24 crore so far. Similarly, Gender Resource Person of Gram Panchayat Kevari, Smt. Ambe Das was honored for resolving 37 cases of domestic violence through Mahila Sangathan and ensuring the safe return of 3 young women who were victims of human trafficking.
Mrs. Nirmala Ekka, a member of Sanjeevani Self Help Group of village Mendra Kala of development block Ambikapur, started centering plate and mixer business by taking loan from the group. She is currently providing centering material to 10 houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. She was honored as ‘Lakhpati Didi’ as her annual income is more than one lakh rupees. Mrs. Babita Yadav of Chanda Self Help Group of the same Panchayat also started cement and gravel business by taking loan from the group. She is actively participating in building construction in the Panchayat and surrounding areas. She has established self-reliance in business with timely repayment of loan. Mrs. Chandni Singh of Radha Mahila Self Help Group under district Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur was honored for earning an annual income of Rs 2.5 lakh by starting poultry farming and vegetable production work through bank linkage and community investment fund. In the programme, Union Minister Chauhan also distributed beneficiary-oriented material to beneficiaries benefitted from various schemes. Under Shakambhari Yojana, 2 HP pumps were provided to farmers Brij Kumar and Moharlal Singh of village Kotiya (development block Ambikapur). On this occasion, Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, Chhattisgarh Government’s Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary, Agriculture Minister Ram Vichar Netam, Public Health and Medical Education Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwada, Rajya Sabha MPs, Lok Sabha MPs, MLAs, Corporation-Board Chairmen and senior administrative officers were present.
