Simhastha works will be reviewed continuously: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Simhastha, held in Ujjain every 12 years, is an important event for the state as well as the nation. It resonates all over the world. The state government has started preparations for Simhastha. Many new construction works will also be done to provide maximum facilities to the devotees and tourists coming to Simhastha. The current facilities will also be upgraded and many arrangements will be made in Ujjain in terms of accommodation, food arrangements and traffic. Government departments and other undertakings should come together to complete all these works in coordination. Along with the development of road and rail transport facilities, air traffic should also be given priority and added to the long-term plan. In the meeting, discussions were held regarding many important works including making Indore-Ujjain road six lane, Indore-Ujjain alternative four lane road (distance 49 km).

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the meeting of the cabinet committee constituted for Simhastha 2028 in the ministry today. He directed to complete the works related to Simhastha within the time limit. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the preparations being made for Simhastha 2028 will be continuously reviewed. Deputy Chief Minister and Public Health and Family Welfare, Medical Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, Urban Development and Housing and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsi Silavat, Transport and School Education Minister Shri Uday Pratap Singh, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput, Energy Minister Shri Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Shri Dharmendra Singh, Minister of State for Skill Development and Employment (Independent Charge) Shri Gautam Tetwal and Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing Smt. Pratima Bagri were also present in the meeting. Chief Secretary Smt. Veera Rana, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister’s Office Dr. Rajesh Rajoura and senior officers of other departments were also present in the meeting.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav received information from the officials about the action being taken by the departments on Simhastha Infrastructure: 2028 Action Plan, development through TPS in Padav area, parking transport proposal and Ujjain Indore Metro Project.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Simhastha is not just of Ujjain. It is a prestigious event of the entire state along with both Ujjain and Indore divisions. The economy also benefits from the arrival of large number of devotees. A large number of devotees in the state reach places like Ujjain, Indore as well as Omkareshwar and Maheshwar. The passengers coming here visit this entire region. Necessary facilities should be developed accordingly.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that for the convenience of elderly passengers, the closer the parking places are to the ghat, the less they will have to walk. The grounds of the campus of various educational institutions and other institutions should also be used for parking. For this, necessary action should be taken by studying and surveying from now onwards.

Speed ​​up the construction of four-lane road in urban areas

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed the Public Works Department to speed up the construction of four-lane road on the length of Veer Durgadas’s Chhatri to Gonsa Marg in Ujjain and complete it soon. With the construction of this proposed road, citizens will get the facility to go directly from Gopal Mandir and the main urban area to Javra, Badnagar and Kaal Bhairav. To promote spiritual tourism, a helipad is also being constructed at Sadaval in Ujjain at present. Passengers coming under the Tirtha Darshan Yojana will be able to reach here easily and get the facility with the construction of this road. It will help in connecting the urban area directly to the helipad. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed that action should be taken by the Public Works Department in view of the facility to be available to the general public in future.

Focus will also be on increasing other rail facilities along with metro

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that necessary efforts will be made for the development of other rail facilities along with Ujjain-Indore metro. It was informed in the meeting that earlier the Transport Department was playing the role of nodal department for coordination with the Railway Ministry. Now this responsibility has been given to the Public Works Department. The distance from Shri Mahakaleshwar (Ujjain) to Indore Metro Project is 47 km and the number of proposed stations is 8. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has done a feasibility study for this. The estimated cost of the work is 10 thousand crores and the target is to complete the work in the next three and a half years. A detailed report related to this project is being prepared.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also directed to complete the previously approved departmental works within the time limit. He gave necessary instructions regarding the renovation of the ghats and beautification of other ghats. The meeting also discussed about the Kanh River Diversion Scheme and the construction of new barrages. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed the departments to work in coordination and complete the works within the time limit for the development of necessary facilities in the context of Simhastha: 2028.
