Sickle cell medicines should be available in mobile medical units of special backward tribal areas: Governor Shri Patel

Bhopal: Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has said that the mobile medical unit operated for remote areas under the PM Janman Yojana is a commendable initiative. He has asked to ensure necessary arrangements including medicines for sickle cell anemia in the mobile medical units operated in Baiga, Bharia and Sahariya tribal areas.
Governor Shri Patel was reviewing the schemes of the Forest and Tribal Affairs Department. The review meeting was organized at Jawahar Khand Raj Bhavan under the aegis of the Tribal Cell. Governor Shri Patel reviewed the implementation work of the Forest Rights Act 2006. He was also apprised of the progress of the work of community and individual forest rights, forest resource conservation, conversion of forest villages into revenue villages. Information about the work to be done under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyay Maha Abhiyan Yojana under the Tribal Affairs Department was presented to him.
Governor Shri Patel said that guidance should be provided from the state level regarding the designing and size of the houses to be built under the PM Janman Awas Yojana. To ensure the quality of work, field inspection of the construction work should also be done by the officials. He said that the beneficiary of the scheme should be given necessary support to make proper arrangements for the family’s needs, light and air in the design and size of the house. He said that the fulfillment of the targets set during the campaign period should also be ensured within the time limit. Governor Shri Patel said that departmental review meetings should be organized by the Tribal Cell on a quarterly basis. In the meeting, the concerned department should present the compiled information of the progress of departmental schemes and works during the last three months.

Gupta, Principal Secretary Tribal Affairs Mr. Gulshan Bamra, Deputy Secretary Mrs. Vandana Vaidya, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. V.N. Ambade, Managing Director State Minor Forest Produce Cooperative Federation Mr. Vibhas Thakur, Secretary Forest Mr. Atul Mishra and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
