The 29-year-old batsman hit a brilliant double century on the second day of the ongoing match between Mumbai and Odisha in Ranji.

Played a strong innings of 233 runs in 228 balls

Iyer had hit a century on the first day of this match. This was the 15th century of his first class career. On the second day, he started his innings with a personal score of 152 runs and played a strong innings of 233 runs in 228 balls. During this, a total of 24 fours and nine sixes came from his bat. On the basis of Iyer’s strong innings, Mumbai has scored more than 550 runs. The right-handed batsman scored a century in the second consecutive match. Earlier, he scored 142 runs in the match played against Maharashtra. This is the first century from his bat after a gap of three years. Claimed for return to Team India

This Mumbai batsman has been out of Team India for some time. He was last seen playing a Test match for India in February. Since then he has not been able to return to the team. However, he was definitely a part of the team in the ODI series against Sri Lanka in August. Iyer was not included in the team for the Australia series as well. Now he has staked a claim for return to the team with his strong performance.
