Bhopal. The district level bank linkage program of self-help groups was organized at Purani Galla Mandi in Kareli on Wednesday under the chief hospitality of Panchayat and Rural Development and Labor Minister Prahlad Singh Patel. In the program, the guests distributed an amount of Rs 30 crore to 847 self-help groups. During this, those who did excellent work in bank linkage were also honored. Public representatives, officers / employees and women of self-help groups and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
Minister Shri Patel said that today is a day of good fortune that it is the birth anniversary of two great men, Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Late Lal Bahadur Shastri. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has called for our sisters to become Lakhpati Didi. The government has made efforts to improve the lives of women power. A target has been set to make 3 crore women in the state Lakhpati sisters. On this, Minister Patel congratulated Prime Minister Modi.
Minister Patel said that mothers and sisters are an example of hard work. Women have a special contribution in running the family. Minister Patel informed that the 501st birth anniversary of Veerangana Rani Durgavati is being celebrated on 5 October. A cabinet meeting is being organized in Damoh district to commemorate her valor and sacrifice. He said that it is the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Ahilyabai. Lokmata Ahilyabai was the epitome of equality and justice. She set an example of a welfare state. These great heroines have taught that our Matri Shakti is powerful.
Minister Patel said that women should join groups and work in their own interest. You have skills. Prime Minister Modi has done the work of empowering the groups economically by giving them money and technology. Minister Patel said that the products manufactured by self-help groups should be branded on a wide scale. Branding will give recognition to your products. Self-help groups are doing a great job of taking loans from banks and repaying them.
Minister Shri Patel said that Nari Shakti Abhinandan is also being started. Mothers and sisters are being given a security cover. They are not only raising capital but are also giving strong leadership to the society. He said that the women of self-help groups are a unique example of self-reliance.
