Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai praised the courage of the security forces
Raipur 01 February 2025: Security forces have achieved a major success under the Naxal eradication campaign in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. In the encounter between security forces and Maoists during the Naxal eradication campaign in Thana Gangalur area, so far 08 Naxalites’ bodies along with INSAS rifles, VLG launchers and many weapons have been recovered. Security forces fear that many more Naxalites may have been killed or injured in this encounter. At present, intensive search operations are going on in the area. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai praised the security forces on this success and said that the Chhattisgarh government is working with full commitment for Naxal eradication. This is a big success of the security force personnel, I salute their courage. The soldiers are fighting against Naxalism with strength. The successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and the Honorable Union Home Minister Amit Shah ji have resolved that by March 31, 2026, Naxalism will be eradicated from the country and state. We are succeeding in fulfilling this resolution, Naxalism is counting its last breaths. He said that the goal of our government is to make Bastar completely Naxal-free and accelerate the development of the tribal community. The Chief Minister has appealed to the Maoists in Naxal-affected areas to surrender by giving up violence and take advantage of the rehabilitation schemes of the government. This is being considered an important achievement under the Naxal eradication campaign run by the Chhattisgarh government.
According to the information received, on January 31, 2025, a joint team of DRG, STF, Cobra 202 and CRPF 222 Corps got information about the presence of Maoists in West Bastar Division. On this basis, the security forces set out for anti-Naxal operation. During this, there were several intermittent encounters from 8.30 am on February 01. During this encounter, the security forces killed 08 Naxalites and recovered explosive material and modern weapons from their hideouts. It is worth mentioning that the Chhattisgarh government is providing security to the people of Naxal-affected areas of Bastar region by setting up new security camps and is also developing basic facilities in villages under the Niyyad Nella Nar scheme and providing the benefits of government schemes and programmes to the people. The Niyyad Nella Nar scheme is building roads, developing facilities like education, health, drinking water, electricity and promoting employment in the villages included in the Niyyad Nella Nar scheme, which is helping in establishing permanent peace in Naxal-affected areas.
