Sarakot Village in Gairsain Block to Become a Model Village, Initiative Underway
In Gopeshwar, the effort to transform Sarakot village in the Gairsain block into a Model Village has officially begun. On Monday, District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari held a meeting with all departments, instructing them to implement their plans in a well-organized manner to achieve this goal. The District Magistrate emphasized that all officials should visit Sarakot village and quickly develop departmental action plans. The aim is to create programs that focus on personal, social, economic, and human development in this model village. Sarakot will be equipped with all essential facilities and services, ensuring that all eligible residents receive social security. Plans are also in place to repair and enhance the Anganwadi building, Panchayat building, and primary school, along with proposals for running smart classes in the school.
Given that Sarakot has a significant number of ex-servicemen, the initiative will ensure that they receive all necessary facilities. Additionally, the goal is to cover 100% of the village’s population under social pension schemes. The Tourism Department has been tasked with registering locals for homestays, while UREDA will be responsible for installing solar lights in the village. The Agriculture, Horticulture, and Irrigation Departments will work on repairing irrigation canals, setting up irrigation tanks, and providing chain link fencing, as well as establishing a farm machinery bank for self-help groups. The Dairy and Animal Husbandry Departments are encouraged to collaborate in helping farmers with goat farming and milk production to strengthen their livelihoods. The Supply Department will ensure that every resident has a ration card, gas connections, and that eligible beneficiaries receive Ujjwala connections.
The Panchayat Department will prepare proposals for improving roads through MGNREGA and constructing community toilets. The Water Corporation and Water Institute have been instructed to ensure that every household in the village has access to water connections. The Health Department will set up camps to create Ayushman and Divyang cards for all residents and conduct health check-ups. Present at the meeting were Project Director Anand Singh, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Abhishek Gupta, Chief Education Officer Dharm Singh, District Soldier Welfare Officer Colonel Subodh Shukla, Assistant Project Officer KK Pant, District Development Officer Sushil Mohan Dobhal, and other district-level officials from various departments.
