Saint community should make every possible effort to increase social harmony: President Smt. Murmu

Bhopal: A mass marriage festival of 251 couples was held at Bageshwar Dham in the dignified presence of President Smt. Draupadi Murmu, Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. In the grand ceremony, President Smt. Murmu blessed the couples getting married in the mass marriage organized on the occasion of Mahashivratri and wished them a happy life. President Smt. Murmu said that the initiative of Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri to remove the evils prevalent in the contemporary society and to make the society aware is commendable. Many saints like Guru Nanak Devji, Sant Ravidas, Kabirdas, Meera Bai have given the message of removing the evils like untouchability and giving proper place to women in the society through their teachings. Bageshwar Dham is effectively carrying forward this objective of the saint tradition of showing the right path to the society.

The varmala ceremony of the couples was performed in the presence of President Smt. Murmu, who symbolically presented gifts to 3 couples. Out of 251 daughters who participated in the mass marriage ceremony organized by Shri Bageshwar Dham Jan Seva Samiti, 108 daughters are from the tribal community. On President Smt. Murmu’s arrival at Bageshwar Dham, Pandit Dhirendra Shastri greeted her by presenting her with angavastram and Tulsi garland. Pandit Dhirendra Shastri also presented Hanuman Yantra, Balaji Sarkar’s idol, literature related to the Dham and souvenirs to President Smt. Murmu. On this occasion, a short film focusing on the sixth mass marriage festival organized by the Dham was screened. Khajuraho MP Shri V.D. Sharma was specially present at the ceremony.

President Mrs. Murmu said that the country is moving towards women led development. In such times, it is the duty of the society and the government to cooperate in making the daughters strong and empowered. People will have to be committed to pay attention to the education, health and safety of daughters and cooperate in making them self-reliant. Empowerment of daughters will empower the family, society and the country. Mrs. Murmu said that we are moving ahead with the goal of making the country self-reliant by the centenary of independence in the year 2047. Let us build such an India, which is not only self-reliant economically but is also full of social harmony. The country should be rich in terms of environment and should be able to show the way to the world through spirituality. The role of saints is important in building such a nation. She called upon the saint community to make every possible effort to increase social harmony in the country with the spirit of human welfare.

President Smt. Murmu appreciated the mass marriage ceremony of girls being organized by Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri and Shri Bageshwar Dham Seva Samiti. President Smt. Murmu gave gifts to the newly married couples. Smt. Murmu said that it is a matter of happiness that in the ceremony, along with various items for household, useful items like sewing machines are also being gifted to the newly married couples to make them self-reliant. The President described the mass marriage ceremony as an excellent example of public welfare through public cooperation.

Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel expressed his gratitude to President Smt. Draupadi Murmu for personally attending the function and blessing the bride and groom of the state. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, everyone is committed to achieving the resolution of making India a developed nation by the year 2047. Social awareness is essential for the development of the country. Governor Shri Patel said that such events are exemplary for the society. Continuous work is being done to benefit every section of the society.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav while welcoming President Smt. Draupadi Murmu on her visit to Madhya Pradesh said that it is our good fortune that with the blessings of Lord Hanuman, continuous efforts are being made to remove social evils in Bageshwar Dham. Breaking the caste barriers existing in the society is the need of the hour. Caste barriers have been broken due to the efforts of Pandit Dhirendra Shastri and grooms from different castes are riding a mare together. Fighting against caste inequalities, Bageshwar Dham is setting new records by organizing mass marriages in the presence of the triveni of government, power and saints in front of the society. There is a great need to present such examples of increasing love, harmony and social harmony in the society. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated Pandit Dhirendra Shastri for such resolutions.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Pandit Dhirendra Shastri has brought to life the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and the idea of ​​’Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niraamayaah’. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed hope that such resolutions and works for the welfare of the society will continue. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we are all proud of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, his far-sighted decisions are ensuring social welfare and progress of the nation. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the daughters getting married today in the mass marriage will be given a gift of Rs 51,000 each from the state government. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav wished all the newly married couples a long and happy life.

Pandit Dhirendra Shastri appealed to the society to use the money from the donation boxes of temples for the upliftment of daughters of poor families. He said that if all the monasteries, temples, dhams and people of the society take this pledge, then no one can stop India from becoming Vishwa Guru (World Leader). NRIs from about 20 countries, divine saints from different parts of the country, family members of the bride and groom and a large number of local citizens participated in the ceremony.

Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar, Minister of State Mr. Dilip Ahirwar, Chhatarpur MLA Mrs. Lalita Yadav, Rajnagar MLA Mr. Arvind Pateria, Maharajpur MLA Mr. Kamakhya Pratap Singh, Bijawar MLA Mr. Rajesh Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Ashok Barnwal, Additional Director General of Police Mr. D.C. Sagar, Commissioner Dr. Virendra Singh Rawat, IG Mr. Pramod Verma and other public representatives and administrative officers were present in the mass marriage ceremony organized at village Garha Bageshwar Dham in Chhatarpur.
