Rohit Sharma Smashes Records Yet Again in IPL Brilliance!
In today’s Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, Rohit Sharma, the former skipper of Mumbai Indians, achieved another remarkable feat. He became only the second player to score 1000 runs against the Delhi Capitals team. The first player to achieve this milestone was Virat Kohli, who plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Rohit Sharma, representing Mumbai Indians, showcased his batting prowess by scoring 49 runs off just 27 balls in today’s match against Delhi Capitals. Before this innings, Rohit had already accumulated 977 runs in 33 innings against Delhi, with an average of 32.56. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli had scored 1030 runs in 27 innings, boasting an impressive average of 51.50 against Delhi.
Notably, Rohit Sharma has also crossed the 1000-run mark against Kolkata Knight Riders, while Virat Kohli achieved the same feat against Chennai Super Kings. Additionally, Delhi Capitals’ opener, David Warner, has surpassed 1000 runs against both Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.
In Sunday’s match, Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to field first at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Furthermore, Suryakumar Yadav, who holds the top rank in T20 batting, made a return to competitive cricket after a four-month break. He had undergone rehabilitation for a sports hernia surgery in December and received clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to resume playing.
Delhi Capitals made two changes to their playing eleven for the match. Pacer Jhye Richardson replaced the injured Mitchell Marsh, while all-rounder Lalit Yadav came in for Rasikh Dar.
