Rising prices of sand have increased the problems of people, prices have increased drastically since June 15

Sand prices skyrocket in Chhattisgarh!-Do you know that sand prices are skyrocketing in Chhattisgarh? Yes, sand prices have almost doubled in just one month! Where sand was available for 11-13 rupees per foot in June, now the same sand is being sold for 18-20 rupees per foot. Imagine, a Hiva carries 800 feet of sand, which means how much the cost of construction work would have increased!
Bricks and ballast have also become expensive-Along with sand, the prices of red bricks and ballast have also increased a lot. The price of bricks has increased by 20-30 paise per brick. This has increased the cost of building a house more than ever. Small builders and common people are suffering the most from this.
Government’s decision increased difficulties-On June 15, the Mineral Department closed the sand ghats of the state. Even before this, sand had been stored illegally on a large scale. Now sand is being supplied secretly, due to which the prices are skyrocketing. Most complaints of illegal storage have been received in Balodabazar, Mahasamund and Dhamtari districts.
Construction work has become expensive-During the rainy season, there is more plaster and tile work in houses, and sand is needed for this. Due to the rising prices of sand, these works have also become expensive. People have to pay more money for every foot of sand, due to which the work of building houses has slowed down.
What will happen next?-There is news that the sand ghats will remain closed till October 15. This may increase the demand for sand further in September-October, and prices may reach Rs 40 per foot! The government has not yet changed the old mineral policy, due to which illegal work and arbitrary prices are continuing. People hope that the government will find a solution to this problem soon.
