Rice millers announce calling off strike

Millers expressed commitment to mill every grain of paddy purchased by the government

Raipur 16 December 2024: Today, a delegation of rice millers from all the districts of Chhattisgarh and especially from large rice production centers met Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw, Food Minister Shri Dayal Das Baghel, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal and Secretary, MD and other government officials of the Food Department. After the meeting, after getting assurance regarding the demands, the rice millers announced to end the strike. The delegation of rice millers has also met Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai ji from time to time and apprised him of the problems of rice millers. A report was also given to the state government on behalf of the millers. All the demands of the millers were heard with sensitivity by the government. The government has assured to consider the demands of the millers positively.

Rice millers of Chhattisgarh are completely satisfied with the assurance of the government. The millers have decided that in the coming time, we will form a divisional team to give a platform to the demands of rice millers. This team will discuss from time to time and inform the government about the problems of the millers. The millers have clarified that all rice millers are united. We are capable of conveying our point to the government. There is no need for any third party to interfere in our matter. Some vested interest groups in the state were constantly spreading confusion about farmers and millers. After today’s talks, that confusion has been completely resolved. Millers are standing with the government in the interest of farmers. Millers said that we are committed to milling every grain of the paddy purchased by the government. All the millers have started working in the interest of the people of the state. Lifting of paddy has started. Millers have announced to end their strike.
