Review of development works in Bastar Division: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai gave instructions for speedy implementation of public welfare schemes

Raipur 16 April 2025 l  A division level review meeting was held today in the Bastar Collectorate hall ‘Prerana’ under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai. In the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Sai reviewed the progress of various schemes in detail and directed the officials to fulfill the targets set on priority while ensuring smooth implementation of beneficiary-oriented schemes.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the journey of development of Bastar now demands continuous speed, not stagnation. Our effort is to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach the last mile and the reach of the government to every beneficiary.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Bastar is no longer a symbol of backwardness, it is becoming the gateway to the possibilities of a new India. Every village, every family here should be connected to the mainstream of development – ​​this is our goal. Schemes like Ayushman, Aadhar, Housing and Electrification are not just government projects, but are a guarantee of dignity and security of the common man.

He said that the youth of Bastar are our biggest asset. We want to give them not just skills but self-respect. Now our mantra is – light in every house, employment in every hand and faith in every heart. This will be the new identity of Bastar, and from here the development story of Chhattisgarh will reach new heights.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said that today’s meeting was very useful and in it there was an in-depth discussion on the development of Bastar division, peace establishment and progress of schemes. It is satisfying to see that the team of government and administration in Bastar division looks young, energetic and determined. The presence of District Collectors, Superintendents of Police and all the officers proves that we are all serious about development and are committed to establishing peace in Bastar.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai directed that the government is working with full strength and dedication for the complete eradication of Naxalism. With the cooperation of the Central Government, the work of Naxal eradication in the state is progressing at a rapid pace and this target is to be completed by 31 March 2026. Our security forces working with courage, dedication and strategy is a big achievement in this direction.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the education session is about to start. He directed to make the process of caste certificate timely and simple so that children do not face any difficulty. He said that there is a possibility of diseases in summer and rainy season, in such a situation, keep the availability of medicines and medical system in order at CSC level and health centers. He said that there is a need to pay special attention to the establishment of industry in Bastar. He said that giving priority to Scheduled Castes, women and local youth, such provisions have been made in the industry policy so that local people can be moved forward in the direction of employment and self-reliance. He said that efforts are being made to complete the incomplete schemes in Bastar soon and work is in progress towards starting regular flights from Jagdalpur Airport. Other infrastructure projects including national highways are also being expedited.

The Chief Minister said that there is a need that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person without any hindrance. Being a tribal dominated area, it becomes even more necessary that we give priority to individual benefit based schemes and empower every family economically. Due to problems in mobile network, services like Aadhaar, ration, banking are often disrupted. This will be resolved soon by coordinating with the concerned agencies. He said that the availability of mobile network and communication equipment will be ensured in remote areas. He gave instructions regarding strengthening the transport system. He said that there is a need to run regular buses in rural areas so that the public can get safe and accessible means of transport.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the tremendous participation of the public in cultural activities like Bastar Olympics and Bastar Pandum is proof that people want to connect with development and want to get away from the ideology of Naxalism. We have to strengthen this belief further. He directed the officials to take the complaints of public representatives seriously, respect them, and listen to them patiently. He said that along with administrative efficiency, human sensitivity is also necessary in the officials. The trust of the people of Bastar division is our biggest capital and we have to work for their welfare with full dedication.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, the entire Bastar is seen in a different scenario, Bastar is writing the story of progress. This is the result of everyone’s hard work. There is a need to make an action plan keeping in mind the needs of Bastar. He directed to complete all the construction works within the time limit. He said that the construction work should be completed before the rains.

During the meeting, Commissioner of Bastar Division Shri Doman Singh said Presented the development works done in the area. He informed that 87.24 percent achievement has been registered under Ayushman Bharat Yojana and 96.37 percent in Aadhar card making. Chief Minister Shri Sai directed to run a special campaign for 100 percent target achievement in Ayushman Card and Aadhar Card.

The action plan to install mobile towers to solve the problem of network in the interior areas was also discussed in the meeting. It was told in the meeting that 93.37 percent progress has been made in Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai gave clear instructions that no eligible beneficiary should be deprived of housing, and all construction works should be completed by the coming December. Emphasis was also laid on the strategy to supply essential construction material simultaneously through panchayats.

It was informed in the meeting that Bastar division has made remarkable progress in the field of electrification. So far, electricity has reached 95.89 percent houses. 100% electrification has been done in Kanker district, while in Bastar and Kondagaon this figure has crossed 99 percent. In the remaining districts, instructions have been given to complete the work by December 2025.

91.55 percent target has been achieved in Kisan Credit Card Scheme. Chief Minister Shri Sai gave instructions to speed up the work in districts like Sukma, Bijapur and Narayanpur. Similarly, 82.88 percent farmers are getting benefits under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. 90.79 percent eligible beneficiaries are registered in Jan Dhan accounts. Instructions were given for quick and timely resolution of revenue related cases like transfer, demarcation, error correction.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasized on connecting the local youth with Prime Minister and Chief Minister Skill Development Schemes. He also instructed the officials to ensure 100 percent placement of trained youth and employment opportunities through voluntary organizations.

Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, DGP Mr. Arun Dev Gautam, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat, PCCF Mr. Srinivas Rao, Commissioner of Bastar Division, IG Police, Collectors of all districts, Superintendent of Police, DFO, District Panchayat CEO, Municipal Corporation Commissioner and all departmental officers were present in the review meeting.
