Rest houses for attendants will be built in medical colleges of Uttarakhand, a big step of Dhami government

Affordable Accommodation for Patients’ Families in Dehradun and Haldwani-This new initiative brings much-needed relief to families of hospitalized patients in Dehradun and Haldwani.

A Collaborative Effort for Better Healthcare-A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Dehradun Secretariat. The agreement unites Doon Medical College, Haldwani Medical College, and the Sewadan Arogya Sanstha, promising improved facilities for families accompanying hospitalized patients. This collaboration aims to alleviate the burden of finding affordable lodging and meals while visiting loved ones in the hospital.

Comfortable and Affordable Rest Homes-Under this agreement, Sewadan Arogya Sanstha will construct rest homes with a total capacity of 350 beds across both medical colleges. The cost? Incredibly affordable! Single beds will be available for just ₹55 per night, while double rooms will cost ₹300. Meals and snacks will also be available at reasonable prices, ranging from ₹20 to ₹35. This invaluable support system will be available for the next 20 years.

Expanding the Initiative to Include the Kichha AIIMS Satellite Center-Chief Minister Dhami also requested that Sewadan Arogya Sanstha extend similar facilities to the AIIMS Satellite Center in Kichha. The organization readily agreed. Doon and Haldwani Medical Colleges have pledged to provide 1750 and 1400 square meters of land respectively for this project. This initiative is poised to provide significant relief to thousands of families across the region.
