Republic Day Celebrated with Fervor at BJP Headquarters
Dehradun: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the BJP headquarters in the presence of the Chief Minister and State President. On this occasion, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami extended greetings for the national festival and called for Uttarakhand to make its best contribution to PM Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047. During the event, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and State President Mahendra Bhatt hoisted the national flag and extended warm wishes to everyone present. In his address, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of the Constitution, which guarantees the rights of every citizen. He reminded everyone of their responsibilities in the world’s largest democracy and urged the people of Uttarakhand to play their part in contributing to PM Modi’s mission of building a developed India by 2047. The Chief Minister also highlighted the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) starting tomorrow, calling it a fulfillment of another promise made to the people of the state. He explained that the UCC would eliminate legal discrimination based on caste, religion, region, or gender, creating a more equitable society. He expressed gratitude to the people of Uttarakhand for empowering the government to take this historic step. Referring to the municipal election results being announced tomorrow, CM Dhami described them as a blessing from the people and emphasized the need to turn election promises into reality.
State President Mahendra Bhatt also extended Republic Day greetings to all workers and citizens. He referred to the municipal election results as a double celebration for the party, describing them as a “Victory Day” experience. Bhatt expressed joy over the implementation of the UCC, drawing an analogy between the holy rivers like the Ganga and Yamuna that nurture life across India, and Uttarakhand’s UCC, which he described as a “Gangotri” that would set the foundation for uniform laws nationwide. The flag-hoisting event saw the participation of former Chief Minister and Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat, Rajya Sabha MP and National Joint Treasurer Naresh Bansal, State General Secretary Organization Ajeya Kumar, State General Secretary Aditya Kothari, Rajpur MLA Khajan Das, State Vice Presidents Kuldeep Kumar and Mukesh Kohli, State Treasurer Puneet Mittal, State Office Secretary Kustubanand Joshi, and several other senior party leaders and workers.
