Religion News: Offering white sesame seeds to Lord Vishnu

Every year, the fast of Shattila Ekadashi is observed on the first Ekadashi of Magh month. This year, the fast of Shattila Ekadashi will be observed on 6th February. On the day of Shattila Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu is worshiped and white sesame seeds are offered. Besides, white sesame seeds are also donated on this day. It is believed that the more sesame seeds a person donates on the day of Shattila Ekadashi, the more he will live in heaven for a thousand years.

Ekadashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Magh month is going to start on 5th February at 6.12 pm and will end on the next day i.e. 6th February at 7.14 pm. According to Udaya Tithi, Ekadashi fast will be observed on 6th February.
