Regularly inspect hostels, make health cards for all students: Tribal Affairs Minister Dr. Shah
Bhopal. Tribal Affairs, Public Asset Management and Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Dr. Kunwar Vijay Shah on Thursday addressed a review meeting cum workshop regarding the operation of hostels and ashrams under the Tribal Affairs Department. The main objective of the workshop was to ensure the systematic operation of departmental hostels and ashrams and the safety of the students living here. All departmental District Magistrates participated in the workshop.
Minister Dr. Shah instructed the departmental officers to compulsorily inspect the hostels and ashrams. He said that it is very important to take care of the health of the students studying in hostels. He said that health cards of all hostel students should be made, in which their blood group and other health related information should be recorded. The report of sickle cell anemia test should also be included in the health cards of the students. The health check-up of the hostel students should be done every month by a nurse from the nearest government hospital. The report of this health check-up will also be recorded in the health cards of the students.
In the meeting, Principal Secretary Tribal Affairs Dr. E. Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Deputy Commissioner of the Department, Minister Dr. Shah urged the departmental officers to pay special attention to the boarding children and ensure strict adherence to the instructions related to the safety of the children. He said that these efforts will improve the physical and mental development of the students.
Minister Dr. Shah said that the good health and better education of the boarding students is the priority of the government. The overall development of the students will be ensured through special efforts.
