Re-launch of ‘Charan Paduka Yojana’ in honor of tendu leaf collectors – Chief Minister Say

Charan Paduka Yojana became a symbol of self-respect and security
Raipur 29 June 2025: Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai today re-launched the ‘Charan Paduka Yojana’ by making women tendu leaf collectors wear Charan Paduka in Jamgaon of Durg district. More than 12 lakh 40 thousand tendu leaf collectors of the state will now get the direct benefit of another guarantee of the successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Sai said that our government is constantly striving to strengthen and secure the living standards of forest dwellers and tendu leaf collector brothers and sisters. Charan Paduka Yojana is a symbol of our gratitude to those hardworking hands who work to collect forest produce in difficult conditions.
Chief Minister Sai said that tendu leaf collector families have an invaluable contribution to the state’s economy, forest produce based employment and local prosperity. It is due to their hard work that the forest produce tradition of Chhattisgarh remains alive and lakhs of families get livelihood support. ‘Charan Paduka Yojana’ was an important promise of our manifesto “Modi ki Guarantee”, which our government has fulfilled with full commitment. This scheme is not just for distribution of Charan Paduka but also a respect for the labour and self-respect of tendu leaf collectors. Chief Minister Sai said that through this scheme, we are paying tribute to the hard work of tendu leaf collectors, which reaches the prosperity of the state through the trails of the forests. The government is a partner in their every happiness and sorrow and it is our duty to ensure dignity and security in their lives.
