RCB Captain Holds Siraj and Company Responsible for Loss, Hardik Praises Bumrah-Surya

In the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians, RCB’s captain, Faf du Plessis, expressed disappointment after their loss, blaming the bowlers for not being aggressive enough. He believed that their bowling department lacked the necessary aggression, putting more pressure on the batsmen to perform. RCB faced their fifth defeat in six matches, with du Plessis emphasizing the need for improvement in their bowling to advance in the league.

Du Plessis pointed out that they needed to score around 200 runs to compensate for their bowling’s weaknesses. He acknowledged Mumbai Indians’ strong batting performance, especially from their player Oss, who played a crucial role in securing the win for Mumbai. Du Plessis admitted that chasing 190 runs wasn’t enough, and Mumbai’s strong batting made it difficult for RCB to defend their score.

Regarding Mumbai Indians’ bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, who took five wickets for just 21 runs, du Plessis praised his exceptional performance. He highlighted Bumrah’s ability to create pressure on the batsmen and his variations, making him a formidable bowler. Mumbai Indians’ captain, Hardik Pandya, also lauded Bumrah’s consistency and effectiveness in taking wickets whenever given the ball.

Pandya also commended Suryakumar Yadav’s quickfire innings of 52 runs off just 19 balls, which significantly contributed to Mumbai Indians’ chase of 197 runs. He mentioned that their aim was to improve their net run rate by chasing the target swiftly.

Overall, the match showcased Mumbai Indians’ strong batting and bowling performances, while highlighting areas of improvement for Royal Challengers Bangalore, especially in their bowling department, if they aim to turn their fortunes around in the IPL 2024 season.
