Raipur. Ratmala Foundation organized a social program for the education and empowerment of the people of Queergarh regarding how people of transgender and LGBTQ community can be educated and empowered in the society. In which invited speakers presented their views and suggestions.
Invited speaker Vidya Rajput (social worker) in her statement while giving information about the scenario of Chhattisgarh said that Garima Grih Committee has been established for transgenders which is working to protect their rights and dignity. It is also working to bring awareness to the transgender or LGBTQ community among the people.
The panelists included in the panel of invited speakers shared their experiences regarding the work being done for transgenders. About transman activism
Papi Debnath gave detailed information and important suggestions. In her address, the Project Manager of Ratmala Foundation informed about the activities and efforts conducted by the Foundation. Raveena Bariha shares information about sex, gender, sexuality.
All the invited speakers were honored by being presented with souvenirs.
Apart from this, a Story Telling session was organized in which people from the community shared their life experiences. Akshay Mankar, present at the program, talked about the basic rights of the LGBTQ community. On this occasion, trans Shaburi Yadav (Police Officer, Tikrapara Police Station), transman Vaid Shukla (CA), transwoman Glamika Patel (SAIL Officer) were also specially present in the program.
