After facing legal trouble in Mumbai, popular YouTubers and podcasters Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Makheeja have now been hit with another FIR in Jaipur. The controversy surrounding their show ‘India Got Latent’ is getting bigger, as fresh charges have been filed against them for using offensive language and cracking obscene jokes.
New FIR Registered in Jaipur – Following a complaint by ‘Jai Rajputana Sangh’, the Jaipur Cyber Police has registered a case against Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Makheeja, and others. The charges have been filed under the BNS Act, IT Act, and other legal sections for their alleged inappropriate content.
Samay Raina Summoned by Maharashtra Cyber Cell – Meanwhile, Maharashtra Cyber Cell has summoned Samay Raina twice for questioning. He was originally asked to appear before the investigating officer on February 17, but his legal team informed the authorities that he is currently in the U.S. and will be back in India on March 17. Taking this into account, the Cyber Cell has now pushed the deadline and asked him to appear on February 18 instead.
Police Identified 40 People from the Show – Authorities claim that nearly 40 people present at the event have been identified. Among them, Siddharth Tewatia (Bappa), who was a judge on the show, has also been summoned by Maharashtra Cyber Police to record his statement.
Legal Trouble Started in Mumbai – This isn’t the first time the accused have landed in legal trouble. On February 11, a case was filed against them at the Bandra Magistrate Court following a complaint by social activist Nikhil Ruparel and Congress NSUI National Representative (Mumbai). Additionally, a formal complaint was submitted to the Mumbai Police Commissioner and Maharashtra Women’s Commission. With back-to-back legal cases and growing criticism, the controversy surrounding ‘India Got Latent’ doesn’t seem to be dying down anytime soon. It remains to be seen how the accused will handle these mounting legal issues.
