On the 500th birth anniversary of braveheart Rani Durgavati, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited the Hathi Darwaza of Singaurgarh Fort located in Jabera tehsil of Damoh district. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the exhibition of the Archaeological Department centered on the history of Rani Durgavati by cutting the ribbon and lighting the lamp. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, along with the ministers, visited the exhibition and came face to face with the history and bravery of Rani Durgavati. The Chief Minister wrote in the visitor register at Hathi Darwaza that it was very enjoyable to visit the wonderful view, historical fort, Rani Durgavati and other places of archaeological importance, especially with the ministers. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Rani Durgavati’s birth anniversary is a historic day. Many schemes will also be run in the name of Rani Durgavati. He said that people from the state and the country should come to this place and become aware of the proud history of Rani Durgavati. The Chief Minister congratulated all the ministers and said that this place will be developed in a new way from the tourism point of view.
Despite the age of several hundred years, the walls of the fort are still standing strong. The mystery of Rani Mahal, Hathi Darwaza, the reservoir built inside the fort for bathing and the secret paths built in the hills of the fort still seems like a puzzle. At some distance from the main Hathi Darwaza of the fort is the Singaurgarh reservoir, where water remains all year round even today. The stories and fame of the bravery of Rani Durgavati are still spread everywhere.
