Operation Sindoor: India’s Strong Response After the Terror Attack in Pahalgam

On May 7, 2025, the Indian government took decisive action by launching Operation Sindoor. This operation was a direct response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where Indian security forces targeted terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation began at 1:05 AM and lasted for about 30 minutes, during which the Indian Army successfully struck nine terrorist locations. Reports indicate that these sites were used to plan and execute attacks against India. The areas targeted included Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Gulpur, Bimber, Sialkot, Chak Amru, Mureedke, and Bahawalpur. Among the destroyed hideouts were four belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammed, three from Lashkar-e-Taiba, and two from Hizbul Mujahideen.

Rajinikanth Supports Operation Sindoor

Famous South Indian superstar Rajinikanth openly supported this operation. He shared a post on social media praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Army for their efforts. He wrote, “The real fight for our fighters has begun. No one will stop until the mission is complete. The entire country stands with you.” His post received a tremendous response online, with one user commenting, “Rajinikanth is the first artist to raise his voice for the nation’s interest. Jai Hind!” Another user added, “With Rajinikanth on our side, we cannot be defeated.”

What is Operation Sindoor?

Operation Sindoor was a carefully planned attack by the Indian government aimed at dismantling several major terrorist networks within Pakistan and PoK. The strikes were carried out in areas like Kotli, Ahmadpur Sharqiya, Muzaffarabad, Mureedke, and Faisalabad. The military emphasized that precautions were taken to avoid any military confrontation and that no facilities of the Pakistani army were targeted.

Official Statement from the Defense Ministry

The Indian Ministry of Defense also released an official statement regarding the operation, stating, “The Indian forces targeted those terrorist bases in Pakistan and the occupied Jammu and Kashmir where attacks against India were being plotted and where attackers were being directed.”
