Raipur. Municipal Corporation Raipur has intensified its preparations for the national ranking of urban bodies under Swachh Survekshan-2024. Mayor Ejaz Dhebar and Leader of Opposition Meenal Choubey are appealing to every citizen to participate in every cleanliness activity by holding zonal officials and citizens’ meeting, while Commissioner Abinash Mishra is finalizing the entire preparations related to cleanliness by continuously discussing with the officials of the Central and Zonal Team. On the instructions of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, the “Gandgi Hatao-Bimari Bhagao” campaign has also been started in the urban area. For this, the Municipal Corporation has also prepared a roadmap to conduct the campaign on a wide scale to make the common people aware.

According to Corporation Commissioner Mr. Mishra, Raipur is currently ranked 12th among the 4447 urban bodies of the country and Raipur has been leading in the state in the last Swachhta Survey. Raipur is once again engaged in preparations to perform better in the race of cleanest cities. Feedback related to cleanliness is being taken from the citizens and instructions have been given to the field staff to take immediate action on complaints and suggestions. Monitoring is being strengthened by deploying zone and ward wise cleanliness in-charges and the headquarters officials have also been given responsibility. Citizen committees, colony welfare societies, mohalla committees are being associated with this campaign and voluntary and social organizations are also being involved in cleanliness activities under the leadership of local public representatives. He told that a plan has also been made to encourage and honor everyone by involving every age group in cleanliness related programs. He told that from July 01, the “Gandgi Hatao-Bimari Bhagao” campaign has been started and through social media and other means, citizens are constantly being appealed that the dirt growing around causes many diseases and obstruction in drainage, so do not let the dirt grow.
