Rain havoc continues in Uttarakhand: Orange alert issued!

Heavy rain warning – The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain till July 13 and 14. Rain has shown full force in districts like Dehradun, Nainital, Rudraprayag, and Bageshwar. From the mountains to the plains, there are clouds everywhere and the spell of rain continues. This rain is badly affecting the common life. Many places are flooded and traffic is also being disrupted. According to the department, a low pressure area has formed over Uttarakhand, which can further promote heavy rain for the next 24-48 hours.

Orange and yellow alert issued – Today the Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts in many districts. Very heavy rain is expected in Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, and Nainital. The humidity level in the air can also reach 80-90%, which will make the feeling of humidity and heat even more. Therefore, you are advised to be cautious. Know the weather condition before leaving the house.

Roads closed, traffic disrupted – Due to continuous rain, many roads in Uttarakhand have been closed. Traffic is completely halted due to landslides on Yamunotri and Badrinath Highway. The road has been completely closed due to debris falling near Ojri on Yamunotri Highway. Public Works Department teams are trying to open it, but continuous rain is increasing their difficulties. If you have to go to these areas, then first get information about the situation.

Danger of landslides and floods – The Meteorological Department has warned that there is a danger of landslides and flash floods due to heavy rains. This danger is highest in districts like Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh. Therefore, people living in these areas are advised to be cautious. People living in low-lying areas should be especially cautious. If you feel that you are in danger, immediately move to a safe place.
