Rain alert in 9 districts of the state today

Many districts of Chhattisgarh are likely to receive rain from August 16 to August 18. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain in 9 districts of the state. Moderate rain with thunder is likely in Balodabazar, Janjgir-Champa, Jashpur, Mahasamund, Raigarh, Raipur, Sakti, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh in the next 3 hours. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two districts of Surguja and Bilaspur division in 2 days. According to the Meteorological Department, the formation of a low pressure area in Gangetic West Bengal has increased the chances of rain in the state.

It is raining lightly since morning in many districts including the capital Raipur. The weather department has predicted moderate rain with thunder and lightning at different places in Balrampur, Bilaspur, Gaurela Pendra Marwahi, Korba, Korea, Manendragarh Chirmiri Bharatpur, Mungeli, Surajpur, Surguja for the next three hours. Along with this, light rain may also occur in other districts. Due to the rain, the temperature of the capital is likely to remain around 25°C and 28°C.

Monsoon remained normal in the state on Thursday. Light to moderate rain was recorded in some districts. The highest rainfall of 09 cm was recorded in Dabhra of Sakti district. Whereas 8 cm rain was recorded in Bhaisma, 7 cm in Ramanujganj, 6 cm in Bamhnidih and Champa.
